KAREN FABBRI Owner, Buyer & High-Heel Diva

 

 

  

Karen Fabbri opened Moxie in October 2001 in Boston's historic Beacon Hill, offering women an elite selection of stylish, sexy and sophisticated shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories. A Massachusetts native, Karen earned a BA in Government and Communications at Cornell University. After a working in Advertising and Public Relations in both NYC and Boston, Karen pursued her true calling – opening a shoe and accessories boutique in her neighborhood. With its well-edited selections, ability to stay ahead of the trends and its warm and whimsical atmosphere Moxie soon became a Boston favorite. Known as much for carrying the most-desired contemporary and designer brands as for selecting and mixing them together in fresh, fashion-forward ways, Karen and her team continue to receive local and national accolades and grow their loyal customer following. In April 2009, Moxie launched a second location in the center of Wellesley, Mass., further extending the boutique’s reach, bringing exclusive designers like Loeffler Randall, Tory Burch and Cynthia Vincent to Wellesley and the surrounding suburbs. Karen remains the store’s owner, buyer, ambassador, fix-it gal, what-have-you. She is active in her community, serving on the Board of her children’s school and staying involved with the Beacon Hill Business Association (of which she served as President for three years). She shares these exciting moments with Gian, her husband of almost 10 years, her children A.J. and Alexandra, her two dogs and her family and friends, who help Karen live her creative dream every day (and always look down to see what shoes she’s wearing)!

KRISTEN CALDON
Manager, Buyer & Style-Setter

  

Kristen has been an integral part of the Moxie family for three years. She earned her BS in Visual Arts from Northeastern University where she honed her exceptional design eye via independent painting and her work in visual arts and graphic design. Demonstrating her keen sense of style early on, Kristen quickly became invaluable to Moxie, both from a customer relations and management perspective as well as with buying and merchandising. Today, Kristen and Karen are a well-oiled, shoe-lovin’ machine. Where Karen tends towards “classic” Kristen tends towards “fashion-forward.” Together, they marry their styles in unexpected and surprising ways and keep their customers’ closets bursting with the latest, most-gorgeous shoes, bags and accessories. A Lexington native, Kristen has studied in Ireland and spent lots of weekends doing “market research” in New York City. A resident of Beacon Hill, Kristen lives and breathes all things style and fashion. She’s the one that always looks like she’s stepped off the pages of an “LA Style” section of a magazine and her warmth and caring are a welcoming presence in both the Boston and Wellesley stores.
